Corporate Accountant

As Corporate Accountant (part-time possible), you will strengthen our Finance team and keep our day-to-day accounting running smoothly — with a clear focus on Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets Accounting, and related bank postings/reconciliations. Based ideally in Kraków (hybrid/remote possible), you’ll work closely with our Commercial Director and external tax advisors to support reliable month-, quarter-, and year-end closings, contribute to VAT pre-filings, and help prepare EU VIES Recapitulative Statements.

In this role, precision matters — but so does pragmatism: you’ll help ensure our numbers are accurate, our processes are consistent, and our finance function is ready for audit-proof reporting as we grow.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Capture, validate, and book vendor invoices, including account assignment, cost centers/dimensions, and payment terms
    • Maintain vendor master data, resolve discrepancies with internal stakeholders and vendors, and manage open items
  • Fixed Assets Accounting: Manage the fixed asset register: additions, disposals, transfers, and periodic depreciation (including exceptional cases as required)
  • Bank Accounting
    • Import bank statements and perform bank reconciliations
    • Investigate and clear unmatched transactions; ensure complete and accurate allocations.
    • Prepare payment runs (SEPA and international), working through defined approval workflows.
  • Closing & Taxes
    • Support month/quarter/year‑end activities: account reconciliations, accruals/deferrals, provisions, and intercompany checks.
    • Support VAT pre‑filings and keep templates current when authorities update forms.
    • Support EU VIES Recapitulative Statements; ensure completeness per customer VAT ID
  • ERP, processes & compliance
    • Work within Microsoft Business Central workflows and adjacent tools to ensure accuracy, approval discipline, and auditability
    • Follow GDPR and national GAAP requirements, internal policies, and documentation standards; liaise with CCO, CFO and internal stakeholders and tax adivisors

Requirements & Skills

Must‑have

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship (e.g., Industrial Management Assistant with a focus on Accounting, tax assistant or similar); or a similar university education with working experience required
  • First hands‑on experience in financial accounting.
  • Solid grasp of ERP processes in SME environments
  • Strong, practical command of Microsoft Excel
  • Familarity with at least one EU continental European accounting standards (GAAP, e.g. KSR / KSRF – Polish Accounting Standards, GoBD/HGB German Accounting Standards)
  • Working proficiency in English and Polish for collaboration in international teams

Must‑have

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Navision (Dynamics NAV)
  • Exposure to consolidation (monthly P &L and balance sheet across multiple legal entities) and general tax postings (e.g., corporate tax in coordination with tax advisors)
  • Experience with VAT processes and VIES reporting (e.g. SAF-T/JPK)
  • Additional languages: German, Russian or Ukrainian

  • Microsoft 365 (Teams/SharePoint), Business Central; defined accounting workflows and role‑based access practices
  • Atlassian Jira and Confluence for structured documentation
  • PowerBI and Excel for internal timely reporting
