Frontend Developer

In this role you’ll translate user flows into fast, accessible, and elegant interfaces, collaborating tightly with UX and design while keeping performance and scalability non-negotiable. About the customer: You’ll be building for a leading European optics & vision-care company known for premium ophthalmic lenses and eyewear. Their digital ecosystem spans product configurators, dealer/optician portals, brand & e-commerce sites, and multi-market rollouts powered by a shared design system. Accessibility, color fidelity, and performance are critical—users include consumers and opticians in both retail and in-store contexts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX designers to implement responsive frontends based on wireframes and user flows
• Develop a strong understanding of end-user workflows and how they interact with different applications
• Ensure technical feasibility of UI designs, with a focus on accessibility and cross-browser compatibility
• Participate in client-facing sessions in an agile, iterative environment to rapidly improve prototypes
• Coordinate with graphic designers to finalize UI elements such as colors, graphics, and layouts
• Translate design mockups into clean, functional, and maintainable code
• Develop new user-facing features and build reusable components and libraries
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness
• Work closely with design and development teams, and participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality

Requirements & Skills

• Solid experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
• Hands-on experience working in CI/CD environments
• Awareness of secure development practices, including SDLC, OWASP Top 10, and basic InfoSec protocols
• Strong attention to detail and a good eye for design implementation
• A team player with good communication skills in English (German is a plus)
• Nice to have:
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Experience with testing tools or test automation frameworks
