Senior QA Engineer with Playwright Experience

About the customer: A leading European vertical-software provider in the home-and-living retail ecosystem, headquartered in the DACH region with offices across Europe. The company builds mission-critical platforms that power furniture and kitchen retailers, manufacturers, and buying groups—spanning 3D planning/visualisation, ERP, POS, logistics, and service. Known for deep domain expertise and long-term customer relationships, it pairs product-led development with a pragmatic engineering culture and a roadmap shaped by real store-floor workflows. Teams collaborate closely with users, challenge complexity, and favour solutions that are maintainable, secure, and quietly scalable.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the Engineering team on their backlog
• Creating a Playwright and Lighthouse testing framework for the new Front End (to be used in this Project but also for all new Front End solutions)
• Writing tests within the framework along with automation execution (to plug into CI or CD)
• Code review of tests written by Engineers
• Creation of an API testing framework to prove APIs (those supporting the UI ) that can be used in this programme and wider
• tests to support CI/CD and also semantic component independent release cadence
• Expertise in using Agentic AI (eg Copilot) to write tests with the newly defined framework
• Agile approach, build small and grow the framework, do not over engineer.
• Support 90%+ in UI test coverage, ideal over 95%
• Cross train and coach resources as they pick up the Framework once it’s built

Requirements & Skills

• Experience with Playwright / Lighthouse (must be these frameworks)
• JavaScript or TypeScript expertise
• Experience with API testing framework such as REST Assured (preferred although open to be influenced)
• Mock and Stub testing expertise
• Experience with Dashboards and integration with automation (eg Jenkins)
