Principal Platform Engineer
The goal of our customer is empowering their engineers to efficiently build,
interact, test, and deploy their platform with safety and effectiveness. As a
Principal Platform Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible
for designing, building, and scaling our platform. You will work closely with
engineering, product, and security teams to create a highly reliable, secure,
and efficient infrastructure. Your expertise will drive innovation, ensure
high availability, and optimize performance across our cloud-native services. You should be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and effectively, with awareness of the customer SLAs.

Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable, secure, and resilient platform solutions for our applications with clear roadmap.
- Lead technical strategy for platform infrastructure, automation, and DevOps best practices.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable seamless deployments and fast iterations.
- Optimize infrastructure and deployment for performance, cost, reliability (HA/DR) and security.
- Implement observability solutions (monitoring, logging, tracing) for system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry security and regulatory standards.
- Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, security teams, solution architects and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Provide reference and templates for the common patterns of use by engineering teams
- Build consensus across engineering teams on technical direction and implementation approaches
- Maintain clear and accurate operational documentation.
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Science, Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in production environments
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages
- Expertise in monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Understanding of security best practices for cloud-native applications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of technical leadership
- Excellent team player and mentoring skills, with a track record of guiding cross-functional teams to achieve DevOps automation goals and enhance overall productivity
- You have worked in a production capacity with either PaaS/SaaS/IaaS environment
- You have worked with large scale distributed Systemo you are is recognized as a subject matter expert within teh company and has in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within their division.
