We are recruiting a senior front end engineer with experience of Web3, React and Solidity and Ethereum for a remote role with our client, a U.S.-based fintech.

You would help develop, improve, extend, and productize the system our customer has designed. This means working closely with our customer’s existing engineering team of smart contract engineers. You will have significant ownership over the user experience and can work on designing new products by implementing a beautiful front end in a reliable and secure manner.

The project/product

Our customer’s protocol is a noncustodial, peer-to-peer, permissionless lending, borrowing and trading system implemented for the Ethereum Virtual Machine that requires no governance or external price feeds to function. They are a team of relentless builders who are very passionate about DeFi.

Responsibilities

• Focusing on the frontend vision and implementation of the customer user experience, with attention to performance, maintainability, and user experience.
• Driving architecture decisions for critical UI flows.
• Building new product features from conception to completion.
• Work closely with other engineering and business stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.
• Rapidly and elegantly implement functional UI features from design mocks, with an eye toward performance, scalability, and accessibility.

What you will need

• 3-4 years of React experience.
• Experience with TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript fundamentals.
• Experience writing automated tests.
• Experience with ethers.js/web3.js, crypto wallet integrations, event listeners, and interacting with blockchain contracts.
• Knowledge of common UI development design patterns, industry standards and best practices.
• Understand optimal solutions to blockchain UX problems like fetching and indexing on-chain data.
• Experience with GraphQL and blockchain indexing solutions like Graph Protocol.
• Proven experience building frontends for smart contracts deployed to Ethereum main net and/or Ethereum Layer 2 networks.

Nice to haves

• Broad understanding of traditional finance, currency, and money markets and can bridge this knowledge to DeFi.
• Advanced quantitative skills (degree in CS or physical science, or similar experience).
• Familiar with Solidity at a high level.
• Past experience working at a reputable DeFi or blockchain projects.
• Experience with Ethereum Layer 2 networks and bridging assets between them.
• Good understanding of multichain protocols.
• Experience working remotely.
