Project Description & Role

K&C is looking for a lead developer with Node.js to join our team and work on the events platform of one of the world’s largest events companies.

You will be working with highly motivated and talented engineers in both the UK and around the globe on creating frontend and backend vertical services with quality, performance and scale in mind at every step of the way.

We are using a variety of technologies covering lambdas, asynchronous services, microservices hosted in AWS and utilising AWS services.

As a Lead Engineer, you will work with talented engineers toward enriching the experience of our users and partners. As an overview, the role involves:

• Contributing to all aspects of the services under the team’s ownership, which includes design, implementation, refactoring, automated testing, deployment, and uptime of the services
• Helping set the vision of the services under the team’s ownership
• Building the technology by well-tested services that gradually grow over time, and that provide plenty of insight into production performance

You should be:

• Able to bring solutions to complex problems and implementing them

Requirements:

• Relevant Node.js programming experience
• Passionate about coding
• A good understanding of continuous delivery, writing unit tests and automated testing
• Comfort working on multiple tiers of modern applications, frontend and backend
• Understanding how the web works and how to make it efficient (HTTP, caching, page rendering, sockets, etc)
• Interest in design, not only in the product and visual sense, but also in coding and technical architecture
• Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences

Should answer to the majority: 

• Node for lambdas
• Some Python knowledge
• AWS: SES, S3, Cognito, SNS, API Gateway, EKS, RDS (Postgres)
• Excellent knowledge of J2EE architecture and design patterns
• Object Oriented Design methodologies
• Service oriented Architectures
• Solid knowledge of OOP
• Knowledge of functional software concepts
