We are recruiting an advanced Progress developer with PS 4GL and .NET experience. 

You will join a new team we are establishing with a long standing client – the world’s biggest events company – and will benefit from the mature strategic relationship between our two companies. 

Reporting to the Marketing Data Platform Manager and under the mentorship of the Scrum team’s senior members, you will take an advanced role in the technical delivery of business requirements (aligning with product strategy) of a key data application serving multiple divisions across Informa. 

The role will be embedded within a dynamic Scrum team, serving projects, maintenance, and support streams, whilst primarily focusing on the following technologies: .Net front-end, Progress back-end, Progress RDBMS & integrations.

This is a majority-remote role but would ideally be based within Poland or elsewhere in central Europe to enable travel to our office in Krakow as required. 

Responsibilities

• Focus on development, operation and continuous improvement of application, services and integrated systems.
• Ensure development is secure and aligns against industry (OWASP) and internal standards.
• Implement UI changes according to functional requirements, technical designs and coding standards.
• Primary UI go-to person for other developers in an n-Tier application architecture.
• Implement integration and interface changes between several systems.
• Perform code reviews of in-progress builds to make sure development work adheres to approved functional requirements, technical designs, and coding standards.
• Write test cases using outlined test criteria.
• Adhere test coverage is maintained at acceptable levels.
• Adhere tech debt is maintained at acceptable levels.
• Contribute and support self-organisation within the Scrum team.

Required Skills

You have advanced knowledge and can demonstrate capability in the following technical areas:

• Development using Microsoft .Net. (advanced)
• Development using Progress Software 4GL. (basic)
• Support integration using integration tools/APIs.
• N-Tier application architectures.
• Code quality best practices.
• Administrative task installation & configuration of .Net Visual Studio.
• Issue tracking tooling across development and 2nd/3rd line support, specifically Jira is a plus.

Experience

• 3+ years’ experience developing and maintaining .Net web-based applications with cloud-based infrastructure.
• 1+ years’ experience developing Progress Software 4GL or the ambition to learn.
• Experience working with internal and external dependency teams.
• Experience working in Agile delivery, specifically Scrum.
