Clearly understand project estimation

Never undervalue security and performance

Interesting observation: approximately 90% of our clients believe they don’t need any security layers… until their systems are hacked. So, one more insight here, never underestimate activities such as an architectural risk assessment, threat analysis, and static analysis for the source code. Otherwise, the project will face expensive alterations down the road.

The K&C team considers the amount of additional traffic, storage capacity, and even how many more transactions can be processed on the website. Thus, scalability and long life of a project are always important concerns for us. To ensure this, we gather strong teams of senior developers and involve architects in all of our projects. 

Constantly improve the communication process

Web development teams are rarely located in the same office. K&C, for instance, works on an outsourcing and offshoring basis with offices in Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, and Ukraine. We’d be lost without an effective communication process.

Our software engineers are collectively responsible for delivering on their commitments. Our internal meetings are often held informally, during coffee breaks. For the outsourced teams, messengers and regular video calls work effectively for discussing current issues. Using this method, for example, we’ve completed projects as a distributed team for the world’s largest supplier of automotive components and leading radiology-as-a-service provider.

Another important point―never rank your outsourced stuff subjectively. A close-knit team, not rivals, will complete the project at a high level. The approach of “one team versus another one” will not yield any positive outcomes for the business.
