We are recruiting a C++ architect for a new team working on the embedded software that will power a next-generation line of eBikes. 

This is a remote role with a strong but not absolute preference for an EU-based candidate as some travel to Germany may be involved. 

Our customer is a startup owned by one of the world’s biggest engineering companies. You will be working on a new generation of connected eBikes where the data flow and the logical architecture of eBike components is re-designed.

The role

The eBike System runs across several kinds of interfaces connected via Message Bus as a communication layer. One of these interfaces is CANfd. With this communication layer, the test toolchain (Vector) has been adapted and the CANfd restbus simulation has been developed. The next step and the goal of this project is to maintain the test toolchain including the CANfd restbus simulation and adapt it to a service-oriented architecture. Therefore, a C/C++ development expert is needed to take responsibility for the following:

• Integrate code modules into the available test framework
• Coding and Code generation
• Documentation
• Integration
• Review
• Bugfixing
• Module and Integration Testing
• Extend test toolchain

Requirements

• B2/C1 English (spoken and written)
• Very good knowledge in embedded C/C++, years of professional experience
• High experience in embedded security systems
• Experience with CAN-communication
• Experience with different compilers
• Experience with Build Systems (e.g. cmake), user of Git, Jira, Bitbucket
